About Us
Our Troop Philosophies:
1. We are a Scout-led Troop. All Scouts participate in an annual planning meeting to decide the year’s activities. Monthly Patrol Leaders’ Council meetings help plan upcoming Troop Meetings.
2. We are a Camping Troop. We strive for one outdoor event each month, year-round. Camping schedule regularly involves the Canoeing/Kayaking, Schooting Campout, Lexington Aircraft Carrier, Fishing, and many others.
3. We are a Patrol-method Troop. The Scouts are divided up into four Patrols; each Patrol has a mix of ages and ranks. Patrols plan for campouts together, cook and clean together, and compete with the other Patrols regularly in friendly contests (Ducth Ove Bake offs, Stretcher Races, Fire Build. etc).
4. We are a Helpful Troop. We have dedicated Troop Guides and Assistant Scoutmasters to help encourage younger scouts to progress through the early ranks. To assist with advanced ranks, we have registered Merit Badge Counselors in our Troop for each of the Eagle-required Merit Badges. We also off regular in Troop Merit Badge Classes.
5. We are a Service-oriented Troop. Several times a year, we join with local cities to do some clean-up of our parks, ponds, and lakes. Every Fall, we assist with Grace Food Drive at Compass Church. Scouts regularly perform extra service hours for their churches, their schools, regional conservation-related organizations, and food drive for local food pantries.
History
Troop 1905 was established to help grow the scouting movement in the Tarrant County mid-cities area, Colleyville, Grapevine, and Southlake communities with opportunities to learn, grow and experience the best of Scouting since October 5, 2010. Troop 1905 emphasizes character building, teamwork, camping and outdoor skills as tools to practice leadership skills Scouts will use as adults. As a boy-led troop our Scouts are trained to be leaders.

Recognizing the growth of scouts and qualified leadership in their existing unit and having the dedication to grow the scouting program, both scouts and leaders from area troops set out to provide more opportunity for boys while making a lasting impact in the community by forming Troop 1905. As the Boy Scouts of America celebrated it’s 100th anniversary in 2010, Troop 1905 is preparing boys for the next 100 years of Scouting.
On my honor I will do my best To do my duty to god and my country and to obey the scout law; To help other people at all times; To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.
